A Living Legacy Rooted in Royal Lineage
Her Royal Highness Princess Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoa was a princess not only by birth, but by conduct a woman of aliʻi dignity who lived with dignity, purpose, and strength. Though descended from royal lines of the Kalākaua Dynasty and regarded as one of Hawaiʻi’s most high-ranking aliʻi of her time, she offered support without spectacle, gave generously without seeking recognition, and protected what was sacred.
To the world, she was a princess and cultural protector. To Hawaiʻi, she was a living link to the monarchy and a steadfast guardian of Native Hawaiian identity. To those who knew her personally, she was “Kekau” — passionate, demanding, feisty, thoughtful, loyal, and committed to her people, her ʻāina, and her kuleana.
Note: For brevity Princess Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoa will be referred to as Abigail.

This website serves as a living, evolving archive of Abigail’s life, work, and the legacy she leaves behind. As new information and materials are discovered and preserved, this record will continue to grow. Through seven sections, we invite you to explore her story:
